UNIT 8: OFF-SITE SERVICES. FIRST CONDITIONAL.

Off-site services: Service out of hotels

In the talk, a number of First Conditional sentences were used.

IF + PRESENT = WILL

1- If you come on the tour, you'll see a fine example of Ninoan civilization.
2- If you are fit and like adventure, you'll love this trip. (are fit = estás en forma)
3- If I learn English well, I'll speak English well.
4- If I pass my exam, I'll take a long break.
5- If I finish my studies, I'll work in a good company.


La oración que comienza con if  siempre lleva el verbo en presente simple. La oración principal puede llevar el verbo en futuro con will, en imperativo o en presente.


  • If you go to London, you'll see the British Museum. Si vas a Londres verás el Museo Británico.
  • If you see a pin on the floor, pick it up. Si ves un alfiler en el suelo, recógelo.
  • If you don't pay, you doesn't eat. Si tu no pagas, no comes. 


La oración con if puede ir al comienzo o al final. Si va al comienzo, debe escribirse una coma entre ésta y la oración principal.


  • I'll go to China if I have enough money. Iré a China si tengo sufficient dinero.
  • If you see Cathy, give her my love. Si ves a Cathy, dále recuerdos de mi part. 
Se suele usar este tipo de oraciones condicionales cuando la situación que expresa la oración es probable. 


WHEN + PRESENT = FUTURE

1- She will use her lucky pen when she does her exam next month.
2- When she has her baby next month, she will wear a brown stone for luck.
3- When I read next week's horoscope, I will know what to do.
4- I won't have problems speaking English when I finish the That's English course next year.
5- When I sit my driving test next week, I won't need may lucky charm.
